Princes Pier 1

By Greg Davies.
It was a foggy winter mid-morning in June by Port Phillip Bay at Port Melbourne. A light drizzle hung in the air. I was looking through a white haze, seeing muted colours and outlines in the far distance. It was an eerie and evocative atmosphere. Railings were reflected on the glistening pier. The view is from Princes Pier towards Webb Dock.

San Francisco

By Glenn Schultes.
A composition of 4 images taken at Marin County headlands lookout; San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge, and Bakers Beach.
In colour the image looked flat, but once converted to black and white the texture of the clouds really popped!

Bridport Tasmania

By Glenn Schultes.
I accidentally shot this at ISO 3200 when I was trying out my new camera for the first time. Luckily the RAW images produced by the camera retain a lot of detail so I was able to produce this result with Adobe Lightroom 5.6.
The grain adds to the image in Black and White. In colour, it detracts from the image.

Cienfuegos

2nd Winner of Image Review 6. By Ian English:
I recently returned from a trip to Cuba. This image was taken in Cienfuegos from a tower looking down on the main square in the city.
I wanted to capture some of the colour of Cuba including the old cars for which Cuba is renowned. I was delighted when all three elements came together.

Singing

By Rene Martens.
Taken at Winton Wetlands near the old boat ramp. I walked along the dredged-out area, listened for the Golden-headed Cristicola to sing and then tried and find it in the reeds. Sometimes I am reasonably lucky to get up close. The bird looked as though it was singing to something below where it was perched, and then it took off before I could get another shot.
