Winners have been announced for the Martin Kantor Portrait Prize and the Alane Fineman New Photography Award, both run concurrently with the Ballarat International Foto Biennale.

The Portrait Conference which is held on 12 and 13 November in Melbourne’s Docklands, will provide two full days of instruction by eight of Australia’s leading portraitists and educators.

Applications have opened for the second annual CameraPro Explorer’s Grant, established to further change-making initiatives and bring them exposure through photography and/or video.

Photographers from across Australia are being encouraged to take part in the ‘Outback in Focus’ photographic competition and exhibition, which was launched today.

Entries are sought for the 2019 Nature Conservancy Global Photo Contest, which is open to anyone over the age of 18 and offers $20,000 worth of prizes.

Entries to the My RØDE Reel 2019 short film competition will close on 28 August at midnight Australian Eastern Standard Time.

Seventy-nine finalists have been selected in this year’s prestigious Olive Cotton Award for photographic portraiture, with their work going on display at the Tweed Regional Gallery from 12 July.
