The National Portrait Gallery of Australia is calling for entries to the 2020 National Photographic Portrait Prize.
Now in its thirteen year, this prestigious prize offers professional and aspiring photographers the opportunity to have their work shown in the National Portrait Gallery. Entrants will also be competing for valuable prizes, which will be awarded for categories including Highly Commended, the Art Handlers Award and the ever-popular People’s Choice Award. In 2020, the National Photographic Portrait Prize winner will take home $30,000 in cash and $22,000 in Canon photographic equipment. The Highly Commended award winner will receive equipment from long-time NPPP supporter Eizo, and the Art Handlers Award winner a $2000 cash prize.
Entries close at midnight on Monday 21 October 2019 (Australian Eastern Standard Time). Finalists will be announced in late November, and their work will go on display in March 2020, followed by a national tour. The winners will be announced at the exhibition opening event on 13 March, 2020. Click here for full details and to upload entries.
