Winners have been announced for the Martin Kantor Portrait Prize and the Alane Fineman New Photography Award, both run concurrently with the Ballarat International Foto Biennale.
Penelope Hunt took out the prestigious Martin Kantor Portrait Prize with her photograph of Alan Constable, Finding Focus (shown above). Finalists’ works are currently on display at the Ballarat Town Hall, where visitors can cast a vote for the People’s Choice Award.
The winner of our Alane Fineman New Photography Award was Yichen Zhou for a series of images titled Daily Talk, which were inspired by the current contradictions in Chinese society. One image from the collection is shown above, while the entire collection can be seen at the Myer Ballarat Basement, 301 Sturt Street.
