Australian photographers are among the winners announced for the 2019 Photo Contest run by Nature Conservancy, which attracted a record number of submissions.

Entries this year came from more than 150 countries, with the Grand Prize Winner announced as Tyler Schiffman from the United States. Benjamin Maze from NSW was awarded First Place in the Australian section for a photograph of a storm in the Blue Mountains (shown above). Runners-up in this section of the contest were Steve Passlow from NSW for a photograph of a Common Garden Katydid and Jason Curtius, also NSW-based, for a close-up of a Whirring Tree Frog and Ladybug.

In the global competition, first and third places in the Water category were taken out by Alex Kydd.

Second Place in the Landscape category went to Australian photographer, Leigh Miller for a photograph of a multi-coloured salt lake (shown below).
