Olympus Imaging Australia has today announced three new compact cameras, the Olympus TG-810, Olympus SZ-20 and Olympus SZ-30MR.

Exclusive to Australia, consumers can be the first in the world to get their hands on the Olympus TG-610 at the Quiksilver pop-up store at the Quiksilver Pro on the Gold Coast next month (26 February – 9 March).

Next month sees the release in Australia of the second Olympus Pen-series Micro Four Thirds System (M4/3) camera, the Pen E-P2.

Giving a hint of things to come at Photokina next month, Olympus Europe has released details of the new Camedia C-5050 Zoom digital camera (right). Featuring a 5.26 megapixel 1/1.8-inch CCD sensor (5 megapixels effective) and fast f1.8 – 2.6 3x optical zoom lens (35-105 mm equivalent), the new model comes with a tilting 1.8-inch LCD monitor with a resolution of 114,000 pixels and claims to be compatible with xD-Picture Card, SmartMedia, Compact Flash and Microdrive (1GB) media.

Olympus Imaging has released details of its flagship DSLR camera, the E-3, which will replace the E-1 model at the top of the company’s line-up.

The Olympus E-1 digital SLR camera will be released in Australia in October at a RRP of $3,499 for the body only (with battery and charger).

Olympus has released details of a new super-telephoto Zuiko Digital ED 70-300mm f/4.0-f/5.6 lens with a compact, lightweight design that is ideal for travel and particularly suitable for the new E-510 camera.
