October 17, 2007: Olympus Imaging has released details of its flagship DSLR camera, the E-3, which will replace the E-1 model at the top of the company’s line-up.
Featuring an advanced 10.1-megapixel, High Speed Live MOS sensor and TruePic III image processing engine, the new model offers high-speed performance and expanded shooting possibilities. Its splashproof body is made from Thixomold magnesium-alloy for ruggedness, combined with light weight and durability. Like other Olympus DSLR cameras, the E-3 includes SSWF dust reduction, which is claimed as the most effective available. A built-in sensor-shift stabiliser, which is linked with the SSWF system, provides up to five EV steps of stabilisation and works with all attached lenses.
