Kodak has released details of a new “Performance” series of digital cameras that have been designed to appeal to photo enthusiasts and provide an alternative to digital SLR models.

Kodak’s latest EasyShare digital camera, the DX6490 zoom, is aimed at ‘advanced amateur’ photographers and features a 4-megapixel sensor plus a high-quality Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon 10x optical zoom lens (38-380 mm equivalent) with a f/2.8-f/3.7 maximum aperture.

Eastman Kodak has released details of its new EasyShare V610 digital camera, which it claims as the world’s smallest 10x optical zoom model and which features embedded Bluetooth wireless technology.

Kodak has released details of a new dual-lens digicam, the EasyShare V570, which is the first of its kind to include separate wide-angle and telephoto lenses.

October will see the release of Kodak’s latest P-series digicams, the EasyShare P712, which features a 7.1-megapixel CCD sensor and image-stabilised 12x optical zoom lens.

Kodak will cease production of its only current DSLR cameras, the DCS Pro SLR/n and DCS Pro SLR/c.

nd 400 – plus an auto setting that covers ISO 80-160. Sixteen scene modes are provided, along with three colour settings: colour, B&W and sepia. The camera comes with 32 MB of internal memory plus an SD/MMC slot. A lithium ion rechargeable battery is also provided. The DX7590 Zoom is compatible with Kodak’s EasyShare camera and printer docks.

The Kodak Pulse Digital Photo Frame is now available in Australia at an RRP of $179.
