September 6, 2006: October will see the release of Kodak’s latest P-series digicams, the EasyShare P712, which features a 7.1-megapixel CCD sensor and image-stabilised 12x optical zoom lens. ![]()
The P712’s hybrid AF system focuses from 50 cm to infinity in standard mode and10-60 cm for close-ups. Users can choose between multi-zone, centre zone and selectable zone settings, the latter providing 25 selectable focus zones. Sensitivity settings range from ISO 64 to ISO 800 and white balance settings include auto, daylight, cloudy, open shade, sunset, tungsten, fluorescent, click WB and custom plus ±7 steps of adjustment along blue/red and magenta/green axes. Still pictures can be recorded in raw, TIFF or JPEG format, while TV-quality VGA video with sound can be recorded at 30 frames/second. In-camera editing includes functions such as split, cut, merge and trim, plus the ability to create single-frame or multi-frame “storyboard” still pictures.
