The new model, which is based on the popular EasyShare DX6490 Zoom, sports a Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon f2.8-3.7 lens with a focal length equivalent to 38-380mm in 35mm format. Other features include Kodak’s Colour Science image processing chip and intelligent matrix metering. An Advanced Digital Zoom control provides up to 3x digital zoom, giving a total image magnification of 30x. The dual-sensor AF system combines TTL autofocus with phase detection to support a normal focusing range of 60 cm to infinity plus macro from 12 cm to 70 cm. Four metering options are provided: auto, multi-pattern, centre-weighted and spot, along with +/- 2.0 EV of exposure compensation in 1/3 EV steps.
Exposure modes include full auto, program AE, aperture and shutter priority AE and manual exposure plus a custom setting and burst setting that captures up to five shots at 2 fps. Shutter speeds range from 1/8 to 1/1700 second in auto mode and 16 to 1/1000 seconds with the manual setting.
