September 13, 2005: Fujifilm has just announced the new SLR-style FinePix S9500, featuring a 9 megapixel Super CCD sensor a 10.7x optical zoom. Fujifilm Product Manager – Digital, Matt Dole said one of the features of the FinePix S9500 is that “since all areas from wide to telephoto are captured with a closed unit single optical lens, the risk of accumulating dust on the CCD is eliminated”. The new model offers ISO levels from 80 to 1600, plus an “Anti-blur” mode to help suppress the problems caused by camera shake and subject movement. The FinePix S9500 has a start-up time of just 0.8 seconds and claims a shutter lag time of just 0.01 seconds. The camera also offers RAW mode. A tilting 1.8-inch LCD screen allows images to be viewed at a range of angles. Other features include a manual twist barrel zoom control; VGA movie capture of 30 frames per second with zoom capability and sound; a hotshoe attachment and PC sync terminal for external flash; a wide range of focal range, exposure and flash mode dials; and a real-time histogram to assist exposure settings before shooting. Accessories include a 16MB xD-Picture Cardâ„¢, 4 x AA-type alkaline batteries, shoulder strap, USB cable, A/V cable, lens cap, lens cap holder, lens hood, CD-Rom with USB driver, FinePix Viewer, ImageMixer VCD2 LE for FinePix and RAW file converter LE.
