April 20, 2009: Fujifilm Australia has released a new digicam, the FinePix Z30, which combines ease of use with fashionable styling in five eye-catching colours.
Featuring a 10-megapixel imager and 3x optical zoom lens, the FinePix Z30 (RRP $299) is offered in pink, purple, white, black and orange. It is equipped with Face Detection Technology with auto red-eye removal, anti-blur Picture Stabilisation and supports ISO sensitivity to 1600. The new camera comes with a 2.7-inch LCD screen, SD/SDHC compatible memory card slot and long-life rechargeable Li-ion battery.
A new six scene SR AUTO (Scene Recognition Auto) function enables the camera to automatically detect and select the appropriate camera settings for Portrait, Landscape, Night, Macro, Night Portrait and Backlit Portrait shots. In addition, a new Dual Blog Mode enables users to add a selection of special effects, including paint and zoom effects. In this mode, shots and movie clips can be automatically resized for posting on social websites or emailing.
The FinePix Z30 also offers Dual Shutter releases with separate buttons for still image and movie recording. The FinePix Z30 also includes a Successive Movie Mode which supports in-camera editing that lets users compile 60-second compilations, as well as edit the start and end points of individual clips. Two self-timer modes are provided: Couple Timer and Group Timer. Working in conjunction with Face Detection Technology, the self-timer automatically activates after the camera has detected faces in a frame. The Couple Timer mode takes a picture when two faces come close together. It can be set at various distances, whether the subjects are standing side by side or cheek to cheek. The Group Timer Mode can detect up to four faces in a frame and automatically sets the timer to capture the shot, only firing when all faces are in frame.
