The latest member of Wacom’s Cintiq family of interactive pen displays, the new Cintiq 21UX, combines the advantages of a large-format LCD monitor with the control, comfort, and productivity of Wacom’s most sophisticated patented cordless, battery-free pen technology.

 

March 1, 2010: The latest member of Wacom’s Cintiq family of interactive pen displays, the new Cintiq 21UX, combines the advantages of a large-format LCD monitor with the control, comfort, and productivity of Wacom’s most sophisticated patented cordless, battery-free pen technology.
With a 21.3-inch TFT diagonal display, the Cintiq 21UX provides a generous working area measuring 431.8 x 383.85 mm. The display’s completely flat surface makes working directly with the pen on screen natural and allows users to take advantage of natural hand-eye coordination. The dynamically-adjustable stand can rotate the display up to 180 degrees in each direction or incline the display from 10 degrees to 65 degrees. The display can also be removed from the stand for desk or lap use.

Strategically-placed ExpressKeys and Touch Strips are programmable to suit individual users. The ExpressKeys are easily accessible on either side of the display and provide quick access to keyboard shortcuts, modifier keys, and functions that minimize dependence on the keyboard for uninterrupted work sessions. Finger-sensitive, rear-mounted Touch Strips are located on either side of the display for easy zooming, scrolling, or making tool adjustments without taking focus away from the pen tip. The Touch Strips are application-specific and an accompanying, thumb-controlled Touch Strip Toggle button can control up to four user-assigned functions per application.
Radial menus provide quick access to additional customised shortcuts. The Grip Pen supports 2048 pressure levels on pen tip and eraser and has two customisable side switches. A new weighted pen stand doubles as a twist-off storage compartment for pen nibs and a nib removal tool. Standardm], felt and stroke nibs are provided. Optional accessories include a new Art Pen and a digital Airbrush pen.
The Cintiq 21UX ships with Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0, Corel Painter Sketch Pad, Nik Color Efex Pro 3.0 WE6 and Wacom Brushes 3.0 for Photoshop and Photoshop Elements.
