March 5, 2007: Local Vivitar distributor, Ricoh Australia has announced details of the new underwater digicam from Vivitar that can be used to a depth of 10 metres.
Featuring a shockproof, dust- and water-proof rubber shell in conspicuous yellow, the Vivitar ViviCam 6200w sports a 6-megpaixel imager and ‘focus-free’ lens with up to 4x digital zoom and a 2,0-inch LCD monitor. Selling for just $299, it offers a shutter speed range of 1-1/2000 second plus five scene pre-sets, including sea and sport modes. The 6200w comes with 16MB of internal memory and features an SD card slot that accepts cards up to 1GB in capacity. It can record QVGA video clips, is PictBridge enabled for direct printing and has a 2.0 high speed USB.
