Tamron has released details of the 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD (Model B028), the first ultra-telephoto zoom lens to reach an 18-400 extended range for APS-C DSLR cameras.

Tamron has used a new optical design with “breakthrough technologies” that enable the new lens to cover 18mm wide-angle up to a telephoto zoom range of 400mm (35mm equivalent of 620mm) and a 22.2x zoom ratio.

Attractively priced at AU$999, the Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD has a light, compact body (121.4mm/705g) and an HLD (High/Low torque modulated Drive) for the AF system and the Vibration Compensation system.
