March 8, 2007: Sony’s new DSCW35 and DSCW55 Cyber-shot digicams go on sale in Australia this month.
Featuring 7.2-megapixel CCD image sensors and Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar 3x optical zoom lenses, both models have metal face plates with a variety of finishes. Menu Guidance also reports on the most appropriate print size and number of shots available with remaining memory, taking the guesswork out of selecting the right image size. They also include a High Sensitivity shooting mode, which boosts the

maximum sensitivity of both cameras to ISO 1000 making it easier to grab blur-free pictures.

Video clips can be recorded with sound in MPEG Movie VX Fine format at VGA size with a frame rate of 30 fps. Both models come with 56MB of internal memory plus expansion slots for Memory Stick Duo cards. RRP for the W35 is $399, while the W55 will sell for $449.
