September 5, 2006: Sony’s new Cyber-shot DSC-T10 camera, which is due for release this month, features Double Anti-Blur technology to ensure sharp images in dim lighting.
Featuring a 5.76 x 4.29mm Super HAD CCD sensor with 7.2 megapixel resolution (effective), the T10 comes with a 6.33-19.0mm, F3.5-4.3 Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens that offers a focal length range equivalent to 38-114mm in 35mm format. Standard focusing range for this lens is 50 cm to infinity, with macro shooting to 8cm (wide) or 25 cm (tele). In Magnifying Glass Mode, the camera can shoot to within 1 cm of a subject. The Double Anti-Blur system works in two ways. An optical image stabiliser detects any hand movement at the time of shooting by sensing hand-shake and shifting the lens to compensate. The camera then selects a high sensitivity (ISO) setting to allow shooting at faster shutter speeds. This delivers brighter images in low light and extends the effective flash distance.
The rear panel of the slimline body sports a 2.5-inch LCD that uses Clear Photo LCD Plus technology to provide a wider viewing angle and improved visibility. Users can select from full auto, Program AE or nine scene modes and four colour effects. An on-board icon guide helps novice users to understand the camera’s controls by displaying a brief text explanation displayed on the LCD screen as each one is selected. A new Clear RAW noise-reduction algorithm minimises image noise at high ISO settings. Users can display shots stored in the camera’s 56MB built-in memory or from the removable memory card via the Image Slideshow function, which offers five display modes and four music presets. PictBridge technology connects the Cyber-shot DSC-T30 to any compatible printer for direct image printing.
The Cyber-shot DSCT10 will be available in pink, black or silver at an RRP of $649. For further information on Sony’s Cyber-shot range, phone Sony Australia on 1300 720 071 or visit www.sony.com.au.
