January 3, 2008: Sony Europe has released details of a new entry-level Cyber-shot digicam, the S730, which provides snapshooters with a high-quality. 7.2-megapixel camera at an affordable price.
Equipped with a Sony 3x optical zoom lens and 2.4-inch LCD screen, the Cyber-shot S730 features a new multi-point autofocus mode that can focus the lens on off-centre subjects and subjects in motion. A High Sensitivity mode is provided with ISO settings up to ISO 1250 to minimise blurring in dim lighting. Users can display an on-screen histogram to check exposure levels and fine-tune camera settings. The camera also has a quick review button for fast access to recent shots.
For novice users, the Cyber-shot S730 includes on-screen guides for functions like flash, macro and self-timer settings. There’s also on-screen advice to help users select the right settings for a chosen subject as selected with the Shooting Mode dial. The camera can also help beginners pick the optimum image size for shooting, depending on the preferred printing paper size and the amount of memory space remaining.
The Cyber-shot S730 will be available throughout Europe from mid January 2008. For details of the Australian release dates and RRP, check the Sony website at www.sony.com.au.
