Entries have opened for the Sony World Photography Awards, a leading competition for photographers and artists working in photography.

Indigenous photographer, Wayne Quilliam, has won this year’s National Photographic Portrait Prize for his photograph of Aurukun man, Eric Yunkaporta in ceremonial headwear.

A portrait of an indigenous elder, titled ‘Cordy in the Clouds 2021’ by Victorian photographer, Adam Haddrick, has been named as winner of the 2022 National Photographic Portrait Prize Art Handlers Award.

Due to overwhelming demand, entries to the Head On Photo Awards will be accepted up until 11.59pm (Sydney time) Tuesday, 7 June.
