The 2022 competition is divided into Fiction and Non-Fiction sections with a new Student Fiction category. It also marks the addition of the Cinematography Laurels, supported by Lemac (Non-Fiction, Music Video), Videocraft (Fiction) and Atomos (Student).  This year’s finalists can be viewed here.

As part of the competition, laurels are awarded among finalists in each category to highlight films that showcase the extraordinary results that can be achieved using the Alpha and Cinema Line cameras, with each laurel receiving generous prize support from its respective sponsor.  In addition, entrants in each category are eligible for a Best Sony Lens Work laurel, supported by Sony and created to highlight the power and versatility of the Sony lens range for filmmaking.

Winners of the 2022 Catchlight Film Festival will be announced on Saturday August 27th at the Awards Ceremony in Sydney, hosted by Sony Australia.
