Entries have opened for the Sony World Photography Awards, a leading competition for photographers and artists working in photography.

Consisting of four main international competitions – Professional, Open, Student and Youth – the Awards contest is regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious photography competitions by elevating photographers’ careers – from established to emerging – since it started 16 years ago. The major prize is valued at US$25,000.

In addition to these competitions prizes will be awarded in the National & Regional Awards, the Latin America National Awards and the Alpha Female Award, which are on-going. A new Sustainability Prize, which is open to photographers working on projects that explore the United Nation’s environmental Sustainable Development Goals, offers a cash prize of US$5000 and a presentation of the project as part of the Sony World Photography Awards 2023 exhibition in London.

The Student competition, which has a theme of In a Changing World, closes on 30 November 2022 13:00 (GMT), while the Youth and Open competitions (including National and Regional Awards, Latin America National Awards and Alpha Female Award) closes 6 January 2023 13:00 (GMT).
