May 3, 2005: Panasonic Australia will release a new series of Pro High Speed SD cards with double the internal data transfer rates of its previous range.
The new cards feature Panasonic’s latest LSI architecture and proprietary high speed technology and support data transmission speeds of up to 20MB/second with SD products that comply with new-generation interface software. Current products in this category include Panasonic’s DMC-LZ1, DMC-LZ2, and DMC-FZ5 digital still cameras; and the NV-GS25, NV-GS35, NV-GS75, NV-GS150, NV-GS250, and NV-GS400 camcorders. The new High Speed cards are offered in two capacities: a 1GB SD Card that will sell for $299 and a 512GB SD Card priced at $129. Panasonic is also offering a Cardbus compatible “Pro High Speed Series” PC Card Adaptor as a host device, priced at $99. The new cards and adaptor are compatible with existing SD-enabled products and can be used to achieve the maximum high-speed data transfer of up to 10MB/s provided by the Super High Speed Series. Higher-capacity Pro High Speed SD cards will be released in the future. For more information contact Panasonic on 132 600.
