Photographers from across Australia are being encouraged to take part in the ‘Outback in Focus’ photographic competition and exhibition, which was launched today.
Jointly developed by the Our Living Outback alliance, Outback Queensland Tourism Association and the Professional Photographers Association of Queensland, the competition aims to highlight the natural beauty of Outback Queensland landscapes, wildlife and native plants, and the people who care for and manage the land.
The competition will be judged by Greg Sullavan, a Canon Collective Ambassador and AIPP Master Photographer with a passion for travel and nature photography. There will be a separately judged category for children under the age of 18.
The shortlisted images will be exhibited at the Outback Tourism Awards in Winton and a special Brisbane exhibition to celebrate the Year of the Outback. The competition will closes on 20th September 2019 and an exhibition of shortlisted images will go on display at the Outback Tourism Awards in Winton on 31st October 2019.
Winners will be announced at a major exhibition in Brisbane in December.
