Adobe has announced major updates to its Creative Cloud applications and introduced a new easy-to-use video editing app, Adobe Premiere Rush CC, for social media creators.


The announcements were made at the Adobe MAX Conference and released overnight on Monday. They included a new Content-Aware Fill workspace in Photoshop CC; performance and workflow improvements across Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic; the ability to design with photorealistic, Freeform gradients in Illustrator CC; a powerful Content-Aware Fit in InDesign CC; expanded functionality through Character Animator’s new Characterizer; a new rendering engine in Dimension CC; and new Sensei powered search features and exclusive content in Adobe Stock, including a new library of clips from GoPro. In addition, Adobe announced new workflows and integrations across animation apps, including Animate to After Effects, Animate to Character Animator and Adobe XD to After Effects.

The new Premiere Rush CC integrates capture, editing, colour, audio and motion graphics with seamless publishing to leading social platforms, such as YouTube and Instagram using functions in Premiere Pro CC and After Effects CC and features a Sensei-powered, one-click adjustments for music and sound. Users have access to professionally designed Motion Graphics templates in Adobe Stock and projects can be optimised for social distribution with a consistent user experience across desktop and mobile.

Adobe Camera Raw has also been updated to include panorama creation, depth range masking and HDR adjustments. New cameras added in version 11 of Adobe Camera Raw are the Canon EOS R, Fujufulm X-T3, Nikon Z7 and Panasonic LX100 II. Preliminary support is also provided for the Nikon Coolpix P1000. users of Adobe applications should be able to update them from within the software.
