Venus Optics has added eight new Laowa-branded lenses to its portfolio, including four new wide angle lenses for both E-mount and Micro Four Thirds and four cine lenses.

The company tends to specialise in lenses that are not commonly available and is known for its innovative lens designs and high construction standards. The Laowa 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 C-Dreamer lens is designed for Sony’s full-frame FE mount and offers the widest angle of view currently available. The Laowa 4mm f/2.8 Circular Fisheye is designed for M4/3 cameras and encompasses a super wide 210 degree angle of view. Also designed for M4/3 cameras are the Laowa 12mm f/1.8 and Laowa 17mm f/1.8 lenses. The 10-18mm Dreamer lens is due for release in November while the three M4/3 lenses are scheduled to go on sale in early 2019.
The flagship model in the cine lenses is the Laowa OOOM 25-100 t/2.9 Lightweight Cine Zoom, which is designed for Super 35 cameras and requires manual focusing. Other cine lenses are the 9mm t/2.9 Zero-D Cine, 7.5mm T/2.1 MFT Cine and 12mm t/2.9 Zero-D Cine. Click here for full specifications of these lenses. Pricing and availability will be announced soon.
