Epson Unveils Seven New Printers

November 3, 2005: Epson Australia will release three new single function and four new multifunction inkjet printers in November, all designed to meet a wide range of document and imaging needs.
The new Stylus Photo R230 (RRP $199), the Stylus Photo R250 ($249) and the Stylus Photo R350 ($349) are purpose-designed inkjet printers, with differing capabilities. The R230 model supports CD/DVD printing and allows labels to be printed on suitably-coated media, while the R250 and R350 models are designed for PC-free printing and come with multiple card slots plus a 1.5-inch colour LCD viewing screen.
The multifunction Stylus CX3700 ($129), Stylus CX4100 ($159) and Stylus CX4700 ($209) models use Epson’s DURABrite Ultra pigment inks and produce prints that can last up to 120 years. The inks are supplied in four individual-colour Intellidge cartridges, which provide consistent results and maximise ink usage. The CX4100 and CX4700 models feature an improved 1200dpi scanner and can scan anything from documents to photos with quality results. Copying quality has been improved from previous Stylus models with an adjustment of the LUT (Look-Up-Table). The Stylus CX3700 prints at up to 18 ppm (pages per minute) in monochrome and up to 9 ppm in colour, making it ideal for small businesses, home users and students requiring quality printing, copying and scanning at a lower cost per page.
The Stylus Photo RX530 ($329) uses four individual ink cartridges and Epson’s dye-based HQ3 ink. It comes with Epson Photo Enhance 4 and Epson colour restoration software and includes a 2400 dpi scanner for standalone film and photo scanning, allowing easy reproduction and restoration of images in the one compact unit. The Stylus Photo R250, Stylus Photo R350 and Stylus Photo RX530 support PictBridge, a camera industry standard that facilitates fast and easy to use PC-free digital printing of high quality photographs directly from digital cameras.
All new models are supplied with Epson’s Creativity Suite, which includes Epson File Manager, Scan Assist, Attach to Email, Image Clip Palette, Copy Utility, Easy Photo Print and Web-To-Page for all scanning and printing needs. The new printers are available for purchase at consumer electronics retailers, computer superstores, mass merchandisers, office superstores and selected photo specialty stores. Until 28 February, 2006 the Epson Stylus CX3700, Stylus CX4100, Stylus CX4700 and Stylus Photo RX530 come with a bonus 12 month warranty, extending the warranty period to 24 months.
