Canon has added to new models to its Mini-DV camcorder line-up with purchase prices to appeal to family photographers.
February 16, 2007: Canon has added to new models to its Mini-DV camcorder line-up with purchase prices to appeal to family photographers. The new MD160 (RRP $699.00) and MD120 (RRP $549.00) models combine digital video (DV) technology with functionality and reliability. Both feature 35x optical zoom lenses – Canon’s longest optical zoom on a camera to date. Canon’s Image Stabiliser technology is included to ensure sharp pictures of distant objects, even in dim lighting and both models are powered by Canon’s DiG!C DV image processor, which can distinguish between video and photo capture and produce accurate colours in both formats. DiG!C DV also dynamically widens the range of colours in both video and photos. Unique to the MD160 is the ultra-fast QuickStart button which powers-up the camera in less than 0.7 seconds. This function also switches the camera into standby mode and automatically turns it off after 30 minutes of non-activity to extend battery-life. The MD160 also includes photo capture to record still images and includes 9-point AiAF and PictBridge direct printing functions. Both models include a level marker and 9-point grid to assist shot composition. They also feature a 2.7-inch widescreen LCD, joystick navigation of menus, plus a 0.35-inch colour viewfinder. Real Widescreen recording is provided at high resolution. Both of the new models are available now. For more information, phone Canon on 1800 021 167, or visit the Canon website at www.canon.com.au. |
