September 17, 2008: ACD Systems has unveiled the latest version of its comprehensive photo viewing, processing, editing, organising and publishing application, ACDSee Pro 2.5.

The new version features improved digital asset management, greater editing flexibility, and enhanced usability and makes it easier to multi-task. Users can organise photos as they are acquired from a camera or other storage device by setting categories, keywords or EXIF or IPTC classifications. They can also simultaneously rename, auto-rotate, delete, set the destination and create backup copies. Categories, keywords and ratings can be embedded in metadata – and also in file formats that don’t include IPTC or EXIF fields, such as PNG, PDF and GIF.

The new version’s extensive search facilities allow users to search by folder name, file name, location and metadata. A new Saved Searches feature provides access to specific search formats again and again. Other features include pixel-level editing tools, custom borders, drop shadows and matte or edge effects. Users can also create slideshows with music, pan and zoom, B&W and sepia effects. ACDSee Pro 2.5 is priced at US$129.99 and is available by download only. For full details, visit www.acdsystems.com
