The new HP Designjet 30 is a six-colour model that uses HP 85 durable, dye-based ink formulations, which are designed to resist fading for up to 70 years when displayed indoors under glass (according to tests conducted by Wilhelm Imaging Research). These new inks deliver rich colour depths, minimal dot visibility and uniform gloss on a wide range of HP media weights and types. The Designjet 30 is supplied with a standard media input tray that holds up to 150 sheets of A3+ size media and features a special rear bypass slot for heavy media up to 300 gsm.

Key HP Professional Colour technologies aupported by the Designjet 30 include Automatic Closed Loop Colour calibration and CMYK Plus colour management which ensure accurate colour consistency. The printers also use automatic PANTONE Calibration, offset emulation, and HP Colour Layering technology for a range of colours and smooth transitions. Print Optimised drivers with RGB ICC profiles are provided for Mac and Windows PCs. An optional HP software RIP is available for expanded printing options and colour accuracy.
The Designjet 30 supports a resolution of up to 2400 dpi and can print high-quality images quickly at up to 4 min/page for A3 (B-sizes) in Normal mode. It is available in two versions: the stand-alone HP Designjet 30 (RRP $1,441) and the HP Designjet 30n (RRP $1,573), with the HP Jetdirect 615n Fast Ethernet print server.
