Olympus mju 410
In summary
Test shots were rather contrasty with above-average saturation and blocked out highlights in brightly-lit conditions. Low-light shots contained a scattering of stuck pixels but were otherwise relatively noise free. These shots had a more usable dynamic range than shots taken in bright sunlight. The white balance control was an above-average performer, particularly with the manual pre-sets. Average shutter lag was 0.85 seconds. . . [more]

The Olympus Mju 410 has the same sensor and 3x zoom lens as the Mju 400 but its weatherproof body is slightly lighter. The 410 also features ‘TruePic TURBO’ processing, which claims to deliver sharper images plus faster recording and playback speeds. Sensor sensitivity has also been boosted to ISO 64-480 but the digital zoom range has been reduced to 4x. Eight scene programs are provided. The white balance control now uses the latest Intelligent Electro Selective Pattern system and a new super-macro mode allows focusing down to 9cm. The Night Scene mode now supports exposures of up to four seconds and burst capture is twice as fast. Our test produced eight consecutive shots at just under 2 frames per second with the HQ setting ““ double the number Olympus claims.
