October 9, 2008: SanDisk has announced a new Extreme III 30MB/s Edition line of SDHC Cards that are designed to deliver peak performance when used with the new Nikon D90 camera.
Featuring a 50% speed boost over the earlier 20MB/second cards, the new SanDisk Extreme III 30MB/second Edition SDHC card makes it possible to record 39 images in continuous shooting mode at 4.5 frames/second when used in the D90. Each Large/Fine JPEG file has an average size of 6.0 MB JPEG. The new cards are ideally suited to video capture, which is offered for the first time by the D90. When placed in SanDisk’s new ImageMate Multi-Card USB 2.0 Reader/Writer, still images and video can be transferred from the new SDHC card to a computer at up to 30MB/second, greatly reducing the waiting time to offload large files from the card to the computer.
