A selection of the best of the year’s newspaper and magazine photographs will be displayed to the public in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane between late September and early November.

 

July 27, 2006: A selection of the best of the year’s newspaper and magazine photographs will be displayed to the public in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane between late September and early November.
The Reportage Festival will be shown as slideshow screenings at the Academy Twin Cinema in Paddington, Sydney between 4 and 6 October; the Como Cinema in South Yarra, Melbourne between 12 and 13 October and at the Brisbane Powerhouse on 9 November. The Sydney and Melbourne screenings commence at 7.00 p.m., while the Brisbane screening begins at 7.30 p.m. Reportage will open with a preview print exhibition from each participating photographer at blank_space gallery in Surry Hills from 28 September – 11 October 2006.
The festival is sponsored by Nikon, NewsPix, National Geographic Channe., Lonely Planet Images, Time, Pilsner Urquell, the Brisbane Powerhouse and the Walkley Foundation. The winning photographer in the festival will be given a chance to trial Nikon’s Professional Photojournalist’s Kit, while the runner up will receive a Nikon Coolpix P2 digital camera.
