The new lens, which is already available for the Sony E and the Fujifilm X mount, is expected to be released in mid-year with the Nikon Z and Canon RF mounts. Its 16.6x zoom range covers angles of view from wide-angle to ultra-telephoto, making it a versatile choice for travellers and photographers who want to minimize lens changes. Users will be able to shoot a wide range of scenes, including landscapes, snapshots, portraits, animals and sports and its compact design and light weight make it highly portable. The minimum focus of 15 cm at the 18mm focal length provides a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2 for half-macro close-ups. The high-speed, high-precision linear motor focus mechanism VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) and TAMRON’s original VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilsation mechanism, support comfortable and stable shooting.
