Launched in June 2019, the Laowa 100mm f/2.8 2X Ultra Macro APO lens is the second macro lens with a 2:1 reproduction ratio that can focus to infinity in the Laowa Macro Lens lineup. Featuring an apochromatic (APO) design that controls both longitudinal and lateral chromatic aberration, its optical design uses 12 elements in 10 groups, including two extra-low dispersion (ED) elements. Designed for cameras with ‘full frame’ sensors, it is available in mounts to suit Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony FE, Canon RF and Nikon Z cameras.

The 100mm focal length covers a 24.4-degree angle of view with apertures ranging from f/2.8 to f/22. The Nikon F version has seven aperture blades, the Canon EF version nine aperture blades and the three versions for mirrorless cameras have 13 aperture blades. The minimum focusing distance is 24.7 cm, with a 2x maximum magnification. All versions of this lens accept 67 mm diameter filters.  The Canon EF and Nikon F versions weight 638 grams, while the Canon RF, Nikon Z and Sony EF version are 650 grams.

The suggested retail selling price in US of the new Laowa 100mm f/2.8 2X Ultra Macro APO lens is USD 449/pc (ex-VAT). Both lenses are now available to order from Venus Optics authorized resellers and official website. They are ready to ship immediately.
