Offered in black and silver versions, the X100V is a premium model with a classic camera body that has top and bottom plates milled from single pieces of aluminium, a beautiful, alumite satin coating and comfortable grip and enhancements to the ISO dial, and lens barrel, making it much more comfortable to hold and operate. It is also the first to be made weather-resistant when the optional AR-X100 adapter ring and the PRF-49 protection filter are attached to the lens.

Another first for the series is the two-way tilting LCD touchscreen that provides intuitive touch controls. Covering 95% of the frame, the OVF features parallax-correcting frame lines to provide an uninterrupted view while the camera’s electronic viewfinder (EVF) delivers a real-time representation of the image. Selecting the Electronic Range Finder (ERF) displays a small EVF at the bottom right corner of the OVF.

At the heart of the X100V is the state-of-the-art 26-megapixel back-illuminated X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor, which combines with the X-Processor 4 to deliver sharp images with minimal moiré and false colour without requiring an optical low pass filter. The quad-core X-Processor 4 and boosts AF performance at the luminance of -5EV via a new algorithm.

An improved hybrid viewfinder enables users to quickly choose between the 0.52x magnification optical viewfinder (OVF) and the 3,690,000-dot OLED electronic viewfinder for framing shots.

The X100V can record 4K video up to 30 frames per second or capture 120 frames per second at 1080p to create super slow motion effects. It also supports 10-bit, 4:2:2 colour recording to an external device via the HDMI port.

Optional accessories include a wide conversion lens (WCL-X100 II), tele-conversion lens (TCL-X100 II) and genuine-leather case (LC-X100V). The lens also accepts the PRF-49 protection filter.

The X100V will be available in February 2020 for $AU2,349 (inc. GST) at leading photographic stores and selected retailers.
