April will see the release of the Canon EOS 850D, a lightweight, versatile and connected DSLR camera with a 24.1-megapixel Dual Pixel CMOS APS-C sensor and 4K movie capability.

Designed for photo enthusiasts, the EOS 850D is equipped with a 45 point all cross-type AF sensor and Dual Pixel CMOS AF that supports Intelligent Tracking (iTR) automatic focus (AF), made possible by the 220,000 Pixel RGB+IR metering sensor. By exchanging high-resolution automatic exposure data with the AF sensor, the iTR automatic focus provides fast responsiveness and accuracy and makes automatic face tracking through the optical viewfinder possible. Eye Detect AF  is supported for Live View shooting and  the camera features a Vari-Angle touchscreen monitor. The ergonomic design features top and rear dials for dual control of both shutter speed and aperture.

The DIGIC 8  processor supports fast processing speeds, enabling users to  in Full HD up to 60p, or with 4K resolution at up to 25p. Time-lapse movies are automatic scene selection are also supported and the EOS 850D includes 5-Axis Movie Digital IS, for smooth, controlled videos. In Live View mode, photographers can take advantage of Dual Pixel CMOS AF, which offers 43 points in automatic mode or 3975 points in manual selection. The camera also supports CR3.RAW capture with a C-RAW option that produces smaller files to double the continuous shooting buffer from 40 images to 75. The new camera also boasts a 220,000 Pixel RGB+IR metering sensor with Flicker Detection.

Integrated 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth  Low Energy connectivity enables users to connect the Canon EOS 850D to their iOS or Android device through the Canon Camera Connect app, to edit and share high-quality images. Users can also edit using DPP Express for iPad for a full RAW workflow on the move.

The Canon EOS 850D will be available for purchase from April 2020 from official local Canon retailers, with pricing set at dealer discretion. The EOS 850D will be supported in Australia by Canon Australia’s 5-year local warranty. Click here for more information.
