The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, in partnership with SEK International University, have announced the opening of entries for the 2026 edition of its Environmental Photography Award.

Established in 2021, the Environmental Photography Award is one of the flagship elements of the Foundation’s Green Shift Initiative, dedicated to promoting inspiring ecological stories. Entry is free of charge.  The Award celebrates photographers aiming to advance conservation and raise awareness of environmental protection across five categories: Ocean, Forests, Polar Regions, Changemakers and Humanity vs. Nature. The competition is open to both professional and amateur photographers.

Winners of each category will receive a €1,000 cash prize, with the 2026 Grand Prize winner selected by the jury and receiving an additional €5,000 cash prize and a round trip to Monaco to receive this special accolade. A Public Award and a Students’ Choice Award will also be presented, each accompanied by a €500 grant. The Public Award winner will additionally be offered the opportunity to visit SEK International University’s research station in the Amazon rainforest in Ecuador. An exhibition of the shortlisted photographs will be presented in Monaco during the summer of 2026 before touring internationally. As in previous competitions, a book featuring all selected images and accompanying texts will be published by Skira Paris.

Submissions will close on Sunday, 2 November, 2025. Click here for more information.
