Fuji Film Imaging Systems has announced it will cease supplying APS film as of the end of May 2012.

According to the company’s Japanese website, reduced consumer demand, coupled with difficulties in sourcing some raw materials were identified as long ago as July, 2011, when the company first announced its intention to terminate this product line. Stocks have dwindled since and are now almost depleted. Kodak, the other remaining manufacturer, also ceased production of APS film last year.

Fujifilm will continue to produce its other photographic film  products but will conduct on-going reviews of the line-up.
