The Ballarat International Foto Biennale is hosting a special preview screening of the movie, Kodachrome, on Tuesday, 15 May at 6:30 pm.
This movie tells the story of the relationship between internationally recognised photographer, Ben (Ed Harris) and his estranged son Matt (Jason Sudeikis) as they travel across America. Ben, having recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer, has four rolls of undeveloped Kodachrome film and starts a journey, with the help of his nurse (Elizabeth Olsen), and son, to the last laboratory developing Kodachrome film, before it closes permanently, and the images lost forever.
The movie is not scheduled for release in Australia until June and the screening has been supported by Creative Partnerships Australia, Regent Cinemas, Mount Langi Ghiran Winery and Athletic Club Brewery. It will take place at the Regent Cinemas, 49 Lydiard St North Ballarat with complimentary drinks at 6:30 and a 7pm start. Tickets cost $20 each and include a glass of wine, beer or soft drink before the movie. Bookings are essential and can be made at https://ballaratfoto.org/events/kodachrome-advanced-screening/.
