How does he do it? Another perfectly composed, focused and exposed image from the lens of Ron Johnson.
My initial thought was that this is a mating pair. Grasshoppers are sexually dimorphic which means the males are often very much smaller than the females.
Either way this would make a great illustration in a scientific article or textbook.
