Venus Optics has released an affordably-priced, light weight 15mm f/4.5 lens with a 0.5x magnification ratio in mounts for Sony E, Nikon Z, L and Canon EF and RF cameras.

Featuring a 110.5-degree wide angle of view and minimum focus distance of 12.9 cm, the new lens weighs only 308 grams and coms with a removable lens hood and 62 mm diameter filter thread. Its optical design contains 16 elements in 11 groups and includes two aspherical elements, three HR elements and three ED elements. Focusing is totally manual. The E, EF and Z mount versions support auto aperture control that enables the lens aperture to be adjusted directly from the camera body. The electronic chip also records of EXIF metadata. Five diaphragm blades produce 10-pointed sunstars when the lens is stopped down. This lens is also designed to keep distortion at a low level, making it ideal for shooting architecture, landscapes or interiors.
