Available in all leading mounts, the new Laowa 180mm f/4.5 1.5x Ultra-Macro APO lens combines a long-reach telephoto focal length with greater-than-life-size macro capabilities in a lightweight form.

The new Laowa 180mm f/4.5 1.5x Ultra-Macro APO lens will be available with autofocusing support for the Sony E, Nikon Z and Canon EF mounts (although this is limited to 1.5 metres) (to minimise coloured fringing) and with manual focusing for Canon RF and L-mount cameras. Designed primarily as a macro lens, it provides an impressive 1.5x magnification at its minimum focusing distance of 30 cm, which is larger than life-size. Its optical design is apochromatic and consists of 12 elements in nine groups, with two extra-low dispersion elements and one ultra-high refraction lens. It has a nine-bladed iris diaphragm with a circular aperture. The Sony E-mount version of the lens weighs approximately 522 grams and just 134 mm long and sports an integrated function button and USB-C port for installing firmware updates. It accepts 62 mm diameter filters. The f/4.5 maximum aperture is fast enough to allow the lens to be used for handheld shooting in bright daylight.
The Laowa 180mm f/4.5 1.5x Ultra-Macro APO lens is listed on the company’s Australia website at an RRP of AU$939. Click here for more information.
