Nikon has released details of two new lenses that are available now for the company’s cropped-sensor cameras: the Nikkor Z DX MC 35mm f/1.7 and the Nikkor Z DX 16-50mm f/2.8 VR.

Weighing only 330 grams, the Nikkor Z DX 16-50mm f/2.8 VR lens is the first of its type to provide a fast, constant maximum aperture. Covering focal lengths equivalent to 24-75mm, its optical design consists of 12 elements in 11 groups, with one ED and two aspherical elements. It has a minimum focusing distance of 15 cm at 16mm and 25 cm at 50mm and is optically stabilised, the lens is 88mm long and accepts 67 mm filters. Its RRP is $1299. Click here for details.
The new Nikkor Z DX MC 35mm f/1.7 lens has a focal length roughly equivalent to 53mm on a full frame camera and a minimum focusing distance of 16 cm, which achieves a close-to-true macro 0.67x magnification. Its optical design contains eight elements in seven groups and includes one ED element. Weighing only 220 grams, it is 72 mm long. Autofocusing is driven by a stepping motor and the lens has a single, customisable control ring. Its RRP is $699. Click here for more information.
