The just-introduced features include beta versions of new Harmonise, Generative Upscale and Projects tools plus an improved Remove tool based on the latest Adobe Firefly Image Model. In addition, a new Gen AI Model Picker lets users choose between different Firefly Image Models (Firefly Image 1 and Firefly Image 3) when using Photoshop’s Generative Fill and Generative Expand tools.

The new Harmonise feature was first previewed as Project Perfect Blend at Adobe MAX in October 2024. Now introduced in beta version, it is designed to help users blend elements into compositions with stunning realism, in just a few clicks. It works by analysing the surrounding context, automatically adjusting colour, lighting, shadows, and visual tone to create seamless, cohesive composites. This significantly reduces the need for time-consuming manual adjustments.

Generative Upscale, which offers high-quality resolution enhancements up to 8 megapixels without sacrificing image clarity, is helpful for refining edits. It’s especially useful for enhancing image quality for print, delivery, or reworking older files and can be used by social media managers for adapting assets for various platforms. This has been one of the most requested updates from the Photoshop community and is a powerful new creative tool that delivers sharper, more detailed results with minimal effort.

The improved Remove tool provides quick and effective ways to erase stray power lines, tidy up a portrait backdrop, or simplify an action or product photo by removing background distractions. Edits blend more naturally into the background with fewer artifacts, so your results look cleaner, more professional, and ready to share.
