The World Photography Organisation is seeking entries to the 2026 Sony World Photography Awards, one of the world’s largest and most prestigious photography competitions, which is open to all.

The awards are split into four main competition categories: Professional, Open, Student and Youth and each category has a number of subordinate competitions, covering Architecture & Design, Creative, Documentary Projects, Environment, Landscape, Perspectives, Portraiture, Sport, Still Life and Wildlife & Nature. There are also National and Regional awards and a dedicated Alpha Female Award for female photographers. Entry to the competitions is free of charge. Individual and category winners will compete for a share of a prize pool that includes prizes of US$25,000 in cash, a solo show, a range of Sony Digital Imaging equipment and, a professional career-development day.
Entrants can submit series of 5 to 10 images per category and awards will be given to those judged in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place photographers plus up to 7 shortlisted photographers per category. One overall winner will receive the Photographer of the Year title as the overall winner and be rewarded with a solo presentation of their work as part of the Sony World Photography Awards London exhibition the following year.
