Australia Post is issuing a special “Photography Australia” stamp issue featuring works by iconic 20th-century photographers, David Moore, Mervyn Bishop and Anne Zahalka.

To be released on 24 March 2026, these stamps (shown above) celebrate, respectively, the 1966 arrival of migrants, the 1975 Whitlam land rights moment, and 1989 Australian beach culture. The first image was captured by David Moore (1927–2003) and shows European migrants arriving in Sydney. The second from Australia’s first Indigenous professional photographer, Mervyn Bishop (1945–), shows Gough Whitlam handing land rights to Vincent Lingiari in 1975. The third reproduces The Bathers (1989) by Anne Zahalka (1957–), who is known for her work exploring multiculturalism and Australian identity.
