This refrigerator is not what we were expecting on the way to a very remote hike up Mount Scabby at the bottom of the ACT, although its rusty and retro characteristic fitted in beautifully with the landscape. We assumed it did not contain ice cold beer as a reward for the gruelling hike.

Another one of those pictures that makes you smile.

The amusing incongruity of the old fridge standing at the intersection of what appears to be a road on the right and a very long driveway to an even older house at the edge of a forested hill.

Photographer Gavin Kellett’s image invites one to imagine a story to explain what, with its wide aspect ratio, is a scene with distinctly cinematic overtones.
