The 11th edition of the Ballarat International Foto Biennale will closed on Sunday, 19 October after a run of 58 days exploring photography, digital media and promptography.
Office Gallery, which showcased 46 original photographs taken by Robert Mapplethorpe, curated by Edward Enninful. Artist Hanna Silver from Australia has won the 2025 Prompted Peculiar International AI Prize for her work, I’m The Only One In Here (centre), which was created using AI prompting. Other noteworthy exhibitions were One–Way Ticket to Vietnam 1966–1968, a world premiere which showcased the work of Catherine Leroy (FRA) and I ❤ Campbell featuring images by Campbell Addy (GHA/GBR). The Martin Kantor Portrait Prize finalists are also on display, along with images from GradFoto 2024, a competition for graduating photo-media artists from institutions across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. Visitors will also get the last chance to vote in the People’s Choice Awards.
