Blanket Bay, according to Parks Victoria, is a popular camping area located on the eastern coast of Cape Otway and, as photographer Mardi Harrison’s moody image reveals, it offers all the ingredients one needs to create beautiful seascapes.

Mardi’s low camera position amplifies the contrast between the gleaming rock shelf and the dark-bellied clouds above the smooth flanks of the distant shoreline.

The agreeable softening effect of her long shutter speed on the sea surface is not so prolonged that it reduces the tonal variations in the sky to a smooth blur.

Very nice indeed.
