Aftershoot has added retouching to complete the portrait post-production workflow in a new release that will be available to all photographers free of charge until September, 2025.
The AI tool supports both JPEG & TIFF import and export and extends the existing culling and editing tools by handling tasks like skin texture correction, blemish removal, eyeglasses glare reduction and object removal. This significantly reduces the time spent on manual retouching, whether users are working on individual portraits or group shots. AI Retouching includes the following key features:
- Skin Smoothing (Face & Body): Refines skin texture while preserving natural detail and smooth skin tone for each subject in multi-person shots.
- Blemish Removal: Detects and regenerates areas affected by acne and uneven pigmentation for natural skin tone and texture and a smooth, even look.
- Wrinkle Removal: Targets forehead wrinkles, eye bags, and smile lines, gently softening them for a smoother, more refreshed appearance.
- Face Enhancement: Detects and enhances facial and eye areas by brightening the face, reducing face shine, and increasing eye clarity.
- Glass Glare Removal: Removes reflections from eyeglasses while accurately reconstructing eyes and facial features.
- Stray Hair Removal: Cleans up stray hairs without affecting natural volume or hair shape.
- Teeth Brightening & Whitening: Enhances the natural brightness of teeth for a clean, confident smile, while maintaining realistic tones and avoiding overprocessing.
- Object Removal: Patch tool seamlessly removes unwanted elements while preserving details.
- Selective Subject Retouching: Enables to apply retouching to specific individuals in a photo, ensuring adjustments are personalized and tailored for each subject.
- Presets: Allows to save and reuse retouching preferences or choose any one of the predefined aftershoot presets to match consistent style.
- Batch Retouching: Retouch one image and sync the changes across the entire set for fast, consistent results.
- Correct Changes tool: give the control to remove the mask from specific areas of the image, preserving original details where needed.
